Superior service recovers data

Eversheds, one of the largest full service legal firms in the world, has praised Solicitors Own Software (SOS) for service above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the safe transition of data to a new server environment at its data centre.

Eversheds Legal Services Group, based in Cardiff has been an SOS practice and case management software customer for over 10 years. Most of the billing for this Group, which involves generating 7000 invoices and posting 60,000 transactions per month, is handled by SOS Practice Manager software operated by a team of 20.

“SOS has proved extremely reliable and robust over many years and we are delighted with the return on investment delivered, “ said Paul Fisher, Business Transformation Manager at Eversheds.

However, a planned infrastructure change and move to new servers at the data centre revealed an incompatibility issue of this earlier SOS software version with the new server environment and data from the SOS financial database became corrupt. SOS reacted swiftly sending a top team of its systems director Graham Colbourne on site and technical director Keith Denman, to recover the data. This happened within 24 hours and only a handful of transactions needed to be re-keyed.

Eversheds was very impressed by the swift response and exceptional service from SOS.  “Everyone involved at SOS provided a fantastic service. We could not have recovered the data so quickly without the dedication of the SOS team”.

Eversheds is now looking to upgrade their old SOS system, which has given such sterling service.

David McNamara, managing director of SOS said: “Customer service is our top priority and when the unexpected happens we pull out all the stops to safeguard our customers’ data. We are delighted that we were able to do this for Eversheds.”
