SOS User Group Southern Regional Conference - held on Tuesday 8th July 2008 at the offices of TLT LLP in Bristol

The above regional conference was attended by some 40 delegates from 23 law firms. We are very grateful to TLT for offering to hold the event at their headquarters in Bristol, which at 12 floors up, provided not only superb conference facilities but the added bonus of stunning views overlooking the city of Bristol and beyond.

The event commenced with a round up of news given by SOS's new Managing Director, David McNamara which covered the recent MBO at SOS, details of the changing landscape of the legal software industry, and information regarding current and future product developments within the SOS software.

This was followed by a presentation by Commercial Director, Elaine Galvin on using SOS Connect for case and matter management.

A buffet lunch was followed in the afternoon by two parallel workshops. One covered the new features and functions of the latest version of SOS accounts (V4.16) presented by SOS Training Manager, Justine Tipling, whilst the other provided an overview of creating case workflow using the unique script designer in SOS Connect, and was presented by Emma Wood, one of SOS's workflow consultants.

The smaller regional size, and lighter agenda allowed more time for delegates to chat with their peers from other firms and to staff from SOS and the early feedback, all of which was extremely positive, suggests that users may be in favour of regional events annually, as opposed to one single, national conference.
