SOS celebrates triple legal software contract win
– May 2006
Solicitors Own Software (SOS) is celebrating three new contracts
for its dynamic practice management software.
Software developed by the Bath-based legal systems solution
provider is currently used by more than 400 legal practices throughout
the country - including several ‘Top 100’ firms -
and has a 100 per cent installation success record.
The latest firms to install SOS Practice Management - which
is designed to support the entire legal practice - include Winchester-based
Dutton Gregory, Solomon Taylor Shaw in Hampstead, London, and
Whittinghams Solicitors in Mid Glamorgan.
Dutton Gregory - which has 21 partners and 120 staff in total – is
installing SOS’s Practice Management accounts software
at its main Winchester office with a further roll out of the
system planned to its three other branch offices.
It will be using the SOS system in conjunction with Visualfiles
case management software, providing the firm with an integrated
case and practice management system.
Dutton Gregory’s Chief Executive, Michelle Tatner said: “We
had outgrown our current accounting software and needed to streamline
the process with a user friendly and efficient system that would
provide an effective practice management solution. We are
in no doubt that the SOS system offers both the capability and
flexibility that we are looking for.”
Meanwhile, Soloman Taylor Shaw – a ten partner firm – has
installed SOS’s integrated accounts and file management
system which will enable staff to devise standard file handling
procedures and processes across all departments. The system will
provide all fee earners and support staff with improved document
and email management capabilities together with an integrated
time recording facility. The accounts team will also benefit
from a more sophisticated accounting system.
Mark Summerfield, a partner at Solomon Taylor Shaw, said: “We
needed to modernise our accounts package and case management
systems and were very impressed with the solution provided by
SOS. We want flexibility and a system that we can grow with – which
is exactly what the SOS Practice Management software provides.”
Whittinghams Solicitors has also recently implemented software
that will enable its staff to undertake document production and
file management more efficiently.
The three deals are worth more than £200k in total.
These new contract wins follow the launch of SOS Connect, a
new integrated practice and matter management system that can
enhance the profitability of legal firms by reducing the time
fee earners spend on administration.
SOS also recently unveiled its innovative new OLAP (On Line
Analytical Processing) reporting software, which helps law firms
improve decision-making by providing instant access to real-time
performance indicators.
SOS managing director, Michael Platt, said: “We are pleased
to announce these latest deals which come at an exciting time
for SOS. Over the last three years we have been developing highly
flexible new software solutions using the latest technology which
will deliver real commercial benefits to UK law firms.”
