BLB invests in SOS Connect for the long term
Solicitors Own Software (SOS) has announced that leading South West-based law firm, BLB Solicitors, is to invest in SOS Connect following a detailed review of its existing software.
SOS Connect is the latest software to be developed by SOS. This dynamic and integrated, practice and case management software is designed to support the entire legal practice by providing an excellent level of functionality that will manage legal workflow, time recording and billing as well as providing ‘real time’ management information. It also uses the latest .NET capability which means the system can be easily accessed via an internet connection.
BLB is an 11 partner firm employing100 staff in four branch offices in Trowbridge, Bath, Swindon and Bradford-upon-Avon. The firm provides a comprehensive legal service to both private clients and businesses across a wide range of industries within Bath, West Wiltshire, Swindon and the M4 Corridor.
Carol King is the firm’s IT manager. She explained the catalyst for change: “Our existing system, Osprey, is over ten years old and out of date. We were looking for a solution that would, in effect, grow with us; one that we could customise and adapt to suit the differing needs of our legal teams.
“We were extremely impressed with both the versatility of SOS Connect and its functionality and felt that it could remain with us for the long term.”
SOS Connect is being installed for BLB’s 40-strong conveyancing team, starting with the conveyancing team in the company’s head office in Trowbridge followed by the conveyancing teams at the firm’s other offices. It will then be rolled out systematically to all the firm’s departments and offices.
Carol added: “BLB has many years’ experience in the Traded Endowment Policy field – buying and selling second-hand endowment policies. This is obviously a very specialist field but such is the versatility of SOS Connect it is possible to easily tailor the software to meet the very specific requirements of this team.”
She concluded: “A key advantage of using SOS Connect is that, ultimately, we will be able to use one standard system across the entire company. As well as ensuring our administrative systems are totally consistent, we are confident this investment will have a substantial and positive impact on the firm’s efficiency and productivity.”
